My husband, son (almost 3 years old) and I spent just under 2 weeks travelling in Andalucia in campervan ‘Carmela’ at the end of September.
We loved it! The weather was great and due to it being outside of the main holiday season the campsites were quiet. We were picked up from Malaga airport by Gonzalo and given a quick but thorough introduction to Carmela, and then we were off! We travelled to Grazalema (a beautiful national park only about 1.5 hours drive from Malaga) and from there headed West to Puerto de Santa Maria, Cadiz and down to the beautiful beaches of Tarifa.
For the last few days of our trip we drove to the Sierra Nevada national park and stayed at Camping Las Lomas (highly recommended campsite).
The campervan gave us the freedom we wanted to explore; it was big enough for the three of us to live in quite happily but small enough to be able to drive into and park in cities and villages without it being a problem.
It was so quick and easy to arrive or leave a campsite – just pull the roof down, clip our son’s car seat in and off we went. It provided us with an adventurous holiday which was also safe and enjoyable for a toddler. I would definitely think about hiring a campervan again for a future holiday, and Flamenco Campers have set the standard very high!
Thanks to Gonzalo for helping us organise a great trip.
