We had our best family holiday yet, on our trip round Andalucia in Carmela recently. The service from Gonzalo was fantastic, from payment to pick up, to the equipment and information provided.

We set off on a brilliantly varied trip, taking in Tarifa (Camping Tarifa), Ronda (Camping El Sur), Castell de Ferro (Camping Huerta Romero), Nerja (Camping Nerja), Orgiva and Pitres (Camping Balcon de Pitres) and Granada (Camping Guejar Sierra).

The weather was perfect, the campsites were incredibly quiet and well equipped. We sampled many a freezing swimming pool, delicious fresh bread and village square coffee/beer.

Our two girls loved sleeping in Carmela’s roof room, and the journeys were enjoyed by all – so much less whinging than in a car due to the table, with its drawing and sticker book possibilities. We did big roads, mountain meandering (Grazalema; road to Capileira and Pitres) and some hair raising squeezes down narrow alleyways in beautiful villages and towns (Vejer de la Frontera; Frigiliana; Ronda,). We finished off with a night in Malaga in a lovely city centre hotel, for a good bath, meal and ice cream – great place with great atmosphere.

Despite being campervan novices, we found the whole thing easy, practical and brilliantly designed.  It was a holiday for all the family  – the freedom, space and simplicity for the kids, and the variety and interest for us. It was wonderful to take in beaches, towns, the Alhambra, mountains, lakes and the city – with new stuff to see everyday but with Carmela with us all along the way, and all the convenience that she offered. Just saving up now to do it again, or to buy our own Carmela! Totally converted.
